Our mission is to deliver Joy Boxes to hospitalized children. Created with child life specialists, each Joy Box is a therapeutic activity kit packed with crafts and projects that lift young spirits through play.
Our goal is simple: to be the voice of the child when everything around them feels scary. A child in the hospital can't choose where they are or what happens to them, but they can choose what to play with. We believe in the healing power of play, and in helping kids hold onto who they are.

Before you come
I've never played pickleball. Am I in over my head?
Not even a little. Pickleball is the easiest racket sport to pick up, and plenty of guests will be first-timers. Show up, swing, laugh. Staff will get everyone oriented.
What should I wear?
Athletic clothes and clean court shoes (no black soles). Paddles and balls are all provided.
Is there parking?
Yes, there's free on-site parking at Pickleball Kingdom in Hamilton.
Is my ticket tax-deductible?
Yes, partially. Each ticket has a fair market value (court access, equipment, refreshments) and the portion above that value is tax-deductible. We'll send a receipt confirming the deductible portion. Standalone Joy Box donations where no goods or services are received in return may be fully deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What's actually in a Joy Box?
Therapeutic activity kits filled with crafts and projects designed to lift a child's spirits through play during a hospital stay. You'll pack one yourself at the event, and it ships to a pediatric patient who needs a brighter day.
